What a parcel number looks like
Cuyahoga County parcel numbers have eight digits written in three groups, such as 123-45-678. Some parcels have an extra letter at the end. You can enter the number with or without dashes. The number stays with the land even when ownership changes.
Where to find yours
- On your property tax bill, near the top, labeled parcel number.
- On your deed or the closing documents when you bought the home.
- On a property record: search by address and the number appears under the address.
Why it is useful
- It is the exact key for the county’s Fiscal Office records, so it never matches the wrong house.
- You need it for a Board of Revision complaint, a Homestead application and most calls to the Fiscal Office or Treasurer.
- It finds properties that have no street number, such as vacant lots.
A number that returns nothing may have changed after a lot split or merge. Try searching by the address, or confirm in the county’s official MyPlace search.
